NVQ Level 2 in Sport, Recreation and Allied Occupations: Activity Leadership

Introduction
This qualification underpins the role of an activity leader in the Active Leisure sector and is designed to support the skills and knowledge that are required for planning, delivering and evaluating activity sessions.
This NVQ consists of seven units; five mandatory units and two optional units that are delivered and assessed in the work place.
Mandatory units
All candidates must successfully complete the following units:
•D21 Prepare for a Session (R/101/8173)
•D22 Lead a Session (Y/101/8174)
•D23 Conclude a Session (D/101/8175)
•A52 Contribute to the Work of your Team (R/101/7718)
•C22 Provide Safety in the Sport and Activity Environment (L/101/8012).
Optional units
Candidates must complete two of the following units:
•A51 Administer Finance and Information (D/101/8161)
•A54 Contribute to Joint Working with other Organisations (H/101/8162)
•B11 Support the Development of the Sport or Activity (K/101/8163)
•C12 Set up, Take down and Store Equipment (D/101/8015)
•C16 Maintain Sport and Recreation Equipment (H/101/8016)
•C312 Develop Customer Relationships (T/101/8165)
•C32 Give Customers a Positive Impression of Yourself and Your Organisation (R/101/8013)
•C36 Support the Protection of Children from Abuse (F/101/8167)
•C37 Look after Participants who are away from Home (J/101/8168)
•D24 Enable People with Disabilities to take part in Activities (L/101/8169)
•D25 Contribute to Adventurous Activities (F/101/8170)
•D31 Contribute to Participants’ Personal and Social Development (J/101/8171)
•D32 Contribute to Participants’ Exploration and Understanding of the Natural Environment (L/101/8172).
